In 1950 Baba Amte had set up an Ashram to rehabilitate leprosy patients at Warora in Chandrapur District. Shradheya Baba, a tireless crusader against all odds, founded the Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Principal Governing body of the only institution on the planet, which recasts the hidden energy of the most neglected into potential use. Baba, globally accorded with prestigious honours, succeeded in weaving a large and well-defined family of orthopedically handicapped, visually impaired, hearing and speech crippled, young school drop-outs and abandoned. His

inspiration took concrete monumental shape erected in the form Anand Niketan College of Arts, Science, Commerce and Agriculture in June 20, 1964. Anand Niketan College of Arts, Science, and Commerce facilitate the sound education for the students living in rural, remote area who deprived of it because of their illiteracy and economic condition.
Our Institution helps our student to develop uprightness of character, loyalty to authority, devotion to duty, friendly comradeship and spirit of social service. Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Anandwan-Warora, established Anand Niketan College from the academic session 1964-65 introducing Art, Science, Commerce and Agriculture faculties.
Commerce faculty started functioning with one section of Pre. University Commerce and First year of degree course from the academic session 1964-65. Every year the succeeding class of the degree course was increased, and then first batch of degree students came out in the year 1967. Till this year the faculty is working to the satisfaction of management, students, guardians and the residents of Warora town and nearby area.
Prof P.L. Shende, Head of the department, ever since its inception, played a key roll in shaping the generation of students, with his infinite vigor and vitality. He also acted on various prominent positions with Nagpur University and the other Universities in Maharashtra.
